 Effects of injury prevention education on reducing injury in musician students

STUDY FUNDED BY THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR ADVANCING TRANSLATIONAL SCIENCE OF THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH UNDER AWARD NUMBER UL1TR002384”

A randomized-controlled pilot study to examine the effect of an educational musculoskeletal health for musicians (MHM) program on musculoskeletal pain and injury in musician-students participating in an intensive summer festival program found reduced pain interference in the group that participated in the program, suggesting that exposure to musculoskeletal health education can be effective in reducing pain and injury.

Effects of an education and prevention program on upper extremity injury in musicians

STUDY FUNDED BY THE AMERICAN HAND THERAPY FOUNDATION’S ASHT FOUNDERS GRANT, 2019-2020

This study will focus on upper extremity injuries in musicians and will study the effect of  exposure and adherence to a formalized health education program on reducing the incidence and severity playing related injuries as measured by musculoskeletal outcome measures and self-reported weekly responses to survey questions.
